Community Garden
Kirtland Community Garden was founded and funded in 2011 by members of Community of Christ Church with land donation from Kirtland Temple Historic Sites. The primary purpose of the garden is to provide a place for households to grow their own fresh produce – particularly those who do not have a location of their own to grow on. Our motivation for creating the garden was and continues to be a service to the community and seeking to help those who can not always easily help themselves. If you know of someone who would benefit from receiving free, fresh produce during summer months, please let us know. For residents wanting to grow their own garden bed, there is a recommended $60 donation requested, but not required. Our primary focus is to serve the under-served; but the garden community benefits from having participants with a wide range of skill-levels and backgrounds. Because of this, we welcome any Kirtland residents who see value in growing both produce and relationships within the community.
